Gaoyuan (Alex) Qian

Gaoyuan (Alex) Qian is a final-year Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Melbourne. His interests include public international law, global governance and corporate accountability. 

Alongside his studies, Alex serves as an Assistant Editor with the Melbourne Journal of International Law, where he is also a member of the AGLC5 Editorial Committee. He has gained international legal experience across multiple jurisdictions, including as a research intern with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) in London, where he researched recent developments in international climate law, and as a legal intern at a leading law firm in Tokyo. He previously completed a Bachelor of Arts in English (Cum Laude) from Washington and Lee University, United States, before commencing the JD at Melbourne Law School.
